Wellbean LLC ("Wellbean," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Wellbean mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information when you use the App. By using Wellbean, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Name, email address, and password (or authentication tokens if you sign in via Apple Sign In or Google Sign In)
- Profile avatar (if uploaded)
1.2 Onboarding and Profile Data
During onboarding and profile setup, we collect information you voluntarily provide, including:
- Gender, date of birth, height, and weight
- Wellness goals (nutrition, fitness, sleep, faith, focus, fasting)
- Diet preferences and dietary challenges
- Weight targets and fitness intensity preferences
- Sleep goals and bedtime preferences
- Faith and productivity focus areas
1.3 Wellness and Activity Data (Synced to Our Servers)
As you use the App, we collect and sync the following data to our servers to enable cross-device access and backup:
- Food and Nutrition: food log entries, daily meal aggregates, saved meals, calorie and macro data
- Hydration and Substances: water intake, coffee intake, and alcohol intake
- Fitness: manually logged workouts and fitness activities, weekly fitness scores
- Sleep: sleep entries and sleep analysis data
- Focus and Planning: to-do items, daily planning sessions, calendar events, calendar integrations (Apple, Google, Outlook), habits, and habit completion entries
- Fasting: fasting windows and categories
- Wellness Scores: daily and weekly scores for nutrition, fitness, focus, and overall wellbeing
- Personal Contacts: contacts you add for sharing or accountability purposes
- AI Usage: records of AI interaction and photo recognition usage counts (for enforcing free-tier limits)
- Support: support ticket content and any attachments you submit
1.4 Faith and Devotional Data (Stored Locally Only)
The following data is stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or shared with any third party:
- Prayer requests and prayer journal entries
- Gratitude journal entries
- Acts of kindness entries
- Morning prayer entries (mood, breathing exercises, daily word, prayer text)
- Bible reading history and reflections
- Bible verse annotations
We believe your spiritual life is deeply personal. This data stays on your device and is deleted only when you uninstall the App or manually clear it.
1.5 Apple HealthKit Data
With your explicit permission, Wellbean reads the following data from Apple HealthKit:
- Workouts
- Active energy burned
- Step count
- Sleep analysis
- Heart rate
Wellbean also writes workout data back to Apple HealthKit when you log a workout in the App.
HealthKit data is never stored on our servers. It is accessed in real time from the HealthKit store on your device. HealthKit data is never sold, shared with third parties, used for advertising, or used for any purpose other than displaying fitness and sleep information within the App and calculating wellness scores. This is in full compliance with Apple's HealthKit guidelines.
1.6 Device and Usage Information
We may automatically collect limited technical information, including:
- Device type and operating system version
- App version
- Crash logs and performance data (through standard Apple frameworks)
We do not use third-party analytics SDKs or advertising trackers.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and operate the App — deliver core features including food logging, fitness tracking, sleep analysis, fasting, daily planning, habit tracking, and faith tools
- Personalize your experience — tailor onboarding, daily insights, nutrition scoring, and wellness recommendations based on your goals and tracked data
- Calculate wellness scores — generate daily and weekly scores across nutrition, fitness, and focus pillars
- Power AI features — process food photos for recognition, parse voice commands, extract calendar events from images, and generate personalized daily insights
- Sync your data — keep your wellness data synchronized across sessions and enable data backup
- Manage your subscription — process subscription status through RevenueCat and the Apple App Store
- Provide customer support — respond to support tickets and resolve issues
- Send notifications — deliver optional reminders for morning routines, mid-day check-ins, evening wind-down, faith habits, and custom habit schedules (you can opt out at any time through the App or your device settings)
- Improve the App — identify and fix bugs, improve performance, and develop new features
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the following categories of service providers, solely to operate the App:

We may also disclose information if required by law, legal process, or government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Wellbean, our users, or the public.
4. Data Storage and Security
- Server-side data is stored on Supabase infrastructure with encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access is restricted through Row Level Security (RLS) policies, ensuring users can only access their own data.
- Local data is stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
- File uploads (profile avatars, support attachments) are stored in Supabase Storage buckets with access controls.
- We implement commercially reasonable security measures to protect your data. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
- Active accounts: We retain your synced data for as long as your account is active.
- Account deletion: You may delete your account at any time through the App (Settings > Account Management). Upon deletion, we permanently remove your profile, all synced wellness data, uploaded files, and associated records from our servers. This action is irreversible.
- Local-only data (faith data, cached foods) is deleted when you uninstall the App.
- HealthKit data is managed by Apple and is not affected by account deletion in Wellbean.
6. Children's Privacy
Wellbean is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@wellbean.io.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction — Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Deletion — Request deletion of your personal data (available directly in the App)
- Data Portability — Request your data in a structured, commonly used format
- Opt-Out of Notifications — Disable push notifications at any time through the App's notification settings or your device's system settings

8. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to Know: You may request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
- Right to Delete: You may request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights.
- No Sale of Personal Information: We do not sell personal information to third parties, and we have not done so in the preceding 12 months.

9. International Users
Wellbean is operated from the United States. If you access the App from outside the United States, you understand and consent to the transfer of your information to the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. We take reasonable steps to ensure your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
10. Third-Party Links and Services
The App may contain links to third-party websites or services (such as Apple's Report a Problem page or FatSecret's platform). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.
11. Notifications
Wellbean may send you push notifications for:
- Morning anchor reminders
- Mid-day check-ins
- Evening wind-down reminders
- Faith habit reminders (prayer, gratitude)
- Custom habit schedule reminders
All notifications are optional. You can manage notification preferences within the App (Settings > Notifications) or disable them entirely through your device's system settings.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by other reasonable means. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy indicates when it was last revised. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
